Devil May Cry 4 scythes its way onto PLAYSTATION 3
Date: 16 Mar 2007
Capcom's cult series is set to make a next-gen splash - but Dante is a hero no more...

The Devil May Cry series has proved to be one of Capcom's real success stories on PlayStation 2 - a superb blend of silky, lightning-fast fighting action and the kind of devious puzzles for which the Japanese studio is famed.

Now, with the producer behind both the original Devil May Cry and the incredibly brilliant Resident Evil 4 in charge, Capcom is bringing Devil May Cry 4 to PS3. However, fans of the series' razor sharp hero Dante may be alarmed to hear their hero is now a villain; "has the renowned devil hunter turned his back on mankind?" asks Capcom's mysterious launch announcement.

Playing as a young warrior named Nero your fate is intertwined with Dante; expect plenty of gothic flamboyance and amazingly executed combat scenes as the plot unfolds.

Speaking of combat, the series' trademark combination of gun and swordplay makes a welcome return, with dazzling combination attacks lighting up the screen - and as you might expect, incredible visuals make it all look better than ever. Adding a further element to combat, Nero has a 'Devil Bringer' - a right arm imbued with powers that generally up the carnage to stratospheric levels. Needless to say, fans of Capcom combos will be in heaven as they send legions of demons back to hell.

Expect to see plenty more of DMC4 on playstation.com as the game gets nearer to launch.
